Seriously you guys, this Asian Inspired Salmon Dip is the Best Recipe you can make with Leftover (or freshly made) Salmon. It comes together in no time. I make this for every party and it's always a hit and everyone asks for the recipe.
It tastes so creamy and has perfect salmon flavor without being fishy. Has a nice garlic and sesame flavor with the perfect balance of tanginess. Just a hint of spice with sriracha but it's very mild even kids can enjoy it. I also add spring onions to the recipe. They add the freshness that the dip needs and pair so well with salmon and cream cheese.
Of course, you can!! When I make this dip for parties and gatherings, I make my salmon in the air-fryer, just before I make the dip. You don't even have to cool it down. Just add to the cream cheese and mash them together. Freshly cooked salmon is much easier to mash than leftover cold salmon.
Sprinkle the salmon fillet with lemon pepper seasoning (You can use the seasoning of your choice but do not use strong flavored herbs like thyme, rosemary, or Italian seasoning). Preheat the air-fryer for about 6 minutes at 370F. Then cook the salmon at 370F for 12 minutes or until the salmon is cooked all the way through. Remove the skin before you add it to the dip.
Btw, have you tried my popular air-fried salmon belly and salmon coconut milk curry recipes yet?
Salmon skin tastes and smells fishy. So it can make the dip smell fishy as well. And sometimes you might have some scales on it. It's unpleasant when you find them in a dip.
I honestly do not recommend it. I'm sorry! I only made it once with canned salmon and I personally didn't like the taste. I highly recommend using baked/grilled/air-fried salmon. But make sure they are not covered with any strong seasonings/flavorings. That might alter the taste of the dip.
Yes! I like it best when it's freshly made, but you can make this salmon dip recipe ahead of time and keep it in the fridge as well. So you don't have to rush before your guests arrive. You can serve this Salmon Dip either cold or slightly warm. If you'd like to serve it warm, just microwave the dip for about 20 - 30 seconds until the cheese is warm (not too long though), and whip it well with a fork. Optional: sprinkle some spring onions, sesame seeds/everything bagel seasoning on top.
Or if you want to take it to a potluck or a friend's house, it's so good as a cold dip too!
This Salmon Dip recipe really is the BEST, you guys! I can't recommend it enough for your next party. I hope you try it. And let me know what your guests say.
The BEST salmon dip ever to wow your guests in your next party/ potluck. So creamy and flavorful and very easy to make too.
Add the cream cheese block to a bowl. break it into large chunks using a spoon. Microwave for about 30 - 40 seconds until cheese is softened. Then whip it with a spoon so there aren't any lumps of cream cheese.
Add all the rest of the ingredients. Mix well with cream cheese.
Transfer to a serving bowl. Sprinkle Everything Bagel Seasoning and spring onions on top to garnish (optional step)
